At Carmel College, our mission is encapsulated in the words, 'I have come that you might have life to the full.' (John 10:10). This underpins our commitment to provide a holistic education that encompasses academic, spiritual, and pastoral development. Our focus is on nurturing virtues such as confidence, self-belief, and resilience in every student, ensuring they live life to the fullest.
Enrichment at Carmel: Unleashing Potential
At Carmel College, we offer over 80 enrichment activities and clubs each week, catering to diverse interests. From coding and rock climbing to salsa dancing and creative writing, there's something for everyone. Our dedicated staff invest their time to cultivate a vibrant extracurricular environment, actively encouraging students to lead their own activities.
Carmel House System: Fostering Healthy Competition
Each student in Carmel are members of one of our four houses, under the patronage of the Northern Saints Aidan, Cuthbert, Hilda, and Bede. Our House System promotes healthy competition among form groups. ClassChart points, attendance, and house points earned through various activities contribute to spirited interhouse competitions like spelling bees, quizzes, and sports. House captains organize teams and play a pivotal role in fostering solidarity.
